    Internet Connection Setup Wizard - This page is used to set up the DCS-932L using the Wizard to walk you through setting up the camera for your network. This can be done manually using the static IP, automatically using the DHCP client (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol is a networking protocol that will allow leasing of an IP address by the client from a server for a specified amount of time.) or PPPoE.

    PPPoE - (Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet) If you use the DCS-932L to connect directly to the Internet you will need to put in the user name and password that was given to you when you set up your account with the Internet Service Provider in these fields.

    DDNS - (Dynamic Domain Name Server) If you have set up the DDNS service you will need to put in your user name and password in these fields if your DCS-932L is using a public IP Address. This will allow the DDNS to track your IP Address even if it changes.

    Network Setup

    LAN Settings - This can be done manually input a fixed IP or automatically using the DHCP Connection (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol is a networking protocol that will allow leasing of an IP address by the client from a server for a specified amount of time) or PPPoE.

    PPPoE(Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet) - If you use the DCS-932L to connect directly to the Internet, you will need to enter the valid user name and password that are provided by your Internet Service Provider.

    DNS (Domain Name System) server is an Internet service that translates domain names (i.e. www.dlink.com) into IP addresses (i.e. 192.168.0.20). The DNS IP address can be received from your ISP.

    Port Settings - Most ISPs do not open port 80 (a DCS-932L default video transfer port) for their residential customers, the DCS-932L has the ability to use a different port by changing the http port for its video streaming. Any unused ports can be used such as port 800, 801, etc. Remember that if the DCS-932L was behind a router, you would need to forward that port to the DCS-932L's IP Address. When accessing the camera, you would need to type the camera's IP Address and followed by the port number (for example http://192.168.0.20:800).

    UPnP Settings - UPnP is short for Universal Plug and Play, which is a networking architecture that provides compatibility among networking equipment, software, and peripherals. The DCS-932L is an UPnP enabled Internet camera that will work with other UPnP devices. This function is enabled by default. If you do not want to use this feature, you may disable it by selecting Disabled.

    UPnP port forwarding - UPnP port forwarding will allow a IP camera to communicate with a UPnP compatible network router for simplified local network device access as well as remote access via the Internet. In order to allow for UPnP port forwarding you will first need to ensure that UPnP is supported and working on your router. Once this has been confirmed you will then need to enable UPnP port forwarding on your IP camera. If the defaults ports used are free for port forwarding or if you will need to change the HTTP ports that are in use to allow for proper UPnP port forwarding. After the proper network ports have been assigned to your IP camera you should then be able to access your IP camera over the Internet.

    Wireless Setup

    SSID - This is a unique identifier for the wireless network.

    Channel - Any channels can be selected for your network. You may always change the channel if there is a lot of interference on a certain channel.

    Connection mode - Infrastructure connection is a wireless connection using an access point as a transmission point for all wireless clients. Ad-Hoc connection is a wireless connection used without an access point while the camera is directly connected to the PC.

    Site Survey - A pop-up window will be displayed to allow you to select a wireless network for the connection.

    Wireless Security Mode -
    1) None - No encryption setting.
    2) WEP Encryption - Wired Equivalent Privacy, 64-bit and 128-bit in HEX (0 - 9, a - f) or ASCII (text) format.
    64 bit -> 10 in HEX or 5 in ASCII
    128 bit -> 26 in HEX and 13 in ASCII
    3) WPA-PSK / WPA2-PSK - Wi-Fi Protected Access with Pre-shared Key, the key field needs to be filled out. TKIP (Temporal Key Integrity Protocol) and AES are supported.

    Dynamic DNS

    Dynamic DNS(Dynamic Domain Name Server) - It automatically synchronizes the public IP address of the modem. Every user can connect to your camera using the Host Name you have purchased from your ISP. The user name and password are required when using the DDNS service.

    Server Address - The address of your DDNS. You may enter the address manually or select a DDNS server from the drop-down menu.

    Host Name - The domain name you have applied from DDNS service.

    User Name - The account name of the DDNS service.

    Password - The password for the account of DDNS service.

    Timeout - It is time interval for DDNS to re-initiate the connection.

    Image Setup

    Anti Flicker - This feature will help to offset the interference of the lighting system and avoid the video flicker issue. ONLY use this option when it is necessary.

    Flip Image - Flip the image vertically.

    Mirror - Flip the image horizontally.

    Brightness Control- There are eleven settings for brightness control. (-5 to 5) -5 is the lowest brightness level and +5 indicates the highest brightness level.

    Contrast Control- There are eleven settings for Contrast control. (-5 to 5) -5 is the lowest Contrast level and +5 indicates the highest Contrast level.

    Saturation Control- There are eleven settings for Saturation control. (-5 to 5) -5 is the lowest Saturation level and +5 indicates the highest Saturation level.

    Video

    Resolution - 3 settings are available.
    1. QQVGA @ 160x120 - Usually used for display on handheld devices.
    2. QVGA @ 320x240 - Standard resolution for mobile phones, and PDAs.
    3. VGA @ 640x480 - Standard resolution for computer display.

    FPS (Frames Per Second) - Highest FPS represents highest refresh rate of a picture is updated on screen every second, and provides better quality of video.

    Jpeg Quality - Choose your preference of choices.

    View Mode - Determines whether use ActiveX viewer or Java viewer to view video images or still images are displayed.

    Light Frequency - 2 options, 50 or 60 Hz.

    Audio

    Audio Settings - Enabling this feature to hear audio from the IP Camera's microphone.

    Volume Settings - You can adjust the IP Camera's microphone volume using the volume level setting.


    Motion Detection

    Motion Detection - When set to "ON", the motion detection is turned on. When set to "OFF", the motion detection is turned off.

    Sensitivity - Determines how easily the camera detects motion. Lower sensitivity means the camera is less likely to detect motion. Higher sensitivity means the camera is more likely to detect motion.

    Detection Areas - The screen is divided into blocks of 5 (horizontal) x 5 (vertical). Specify the detection area by left-clicking the mouse on the blocks of preview screen. The area valid for motion detection is displayed in blue.


    Mail

    SMTP Server Address - This is the domain name or IP address of your external email server.

    Sender E-mail Address - This is the email address of the person sending the camera images.

    Receiver E-mail Address - This is the email address of recipient for the SMTP server.

    User Name - The user name of the email account.

    Password - The password of the email account.

    Use SSL-TLS/STARTTLS - Select SSL-TLS or STARTTLS if SMTP server requires TLS authentication.

    Enable emailing images to email account:
    - Select Always to enable camera sending images to the recipient's email account.
    - Select Schedule if you like to specify the time and day when the camera to start and stop sending images to the recipient's email account. The interval of the snapshot can also be configured from 1 to 65535 seconds.
    - Select Motion Detection if you would like to camera sending image to the recipient's email account when the motions are detected.

    Test email account -
    This will send a snapshot to the email account that you have configured. If you have configured the SMTP account correctly you will be able to send a test file to the email account of the recipient.

    FTP

    Host Name - This is the IP address of the FTP server that you will be connecting to.

    Port - Default is port 21.

    User Name - The user name that required accessing the external FTP server.

    Password - The password that required accessing the external FTP server.

    Path - Specifies the destination folder in the external FTP server.

    Passive mode - Enabling passive mode will allow access to an external FTP server if your camera is behind a router protected by firewall.

    Enable uploading images to the FTP server:
    - Select Always to enable camera uploading images to the FTP server.
    - Select Schedule if you like to specify the time and day when the camera to start and stop uploading the images to the FTP server.
    - Select Motion Detection if you would like to camera uploading images to the FTP server when the motions are detected.

    Image Frequency - User can choose and define the numbers for both Frames/Second (refresh rate) and Seconds/ Frame.

    Base file name - The name that contains the time stamp information, for example 9202005072116425101.jpg. This means that the camera took a snapshot in the year 2005, July 21 at 16:42:51 (hour:min:sec) and 01 represents the 1st picture.

    File - Select Overwrite and there will be only one images that are constantly refreshed. Select Date/Time Suffix and the pictures will be named with a date and time (may refer to Base File Name). Enable the Create subfolder function, the system will auto create the subfolder by 0.5 hour, 1 hour or 1 day. An example of this can be seen above under the Base file name category. Select Sequence Number Suffix up to 1024 and all the pictures will be numbered from 1-1024. The total amount of pictures can be configured up to 1024 pictures.

    Test FTP server
    An image file will be sent to the FTP server after you have clicked Test.

    Time and Date

    Time Zone - The geographical zone for the local time setting.

    Automatic Time Configuration - With the option selected, the camera will synchronize the time settings with the NTP server over the Internet whenever the camera starts up. If the timeserver cannot be reached, no time settings will be applied.

    NTP server - The IP address or domain name of the Time Server.

    Set the Data and Time Manually - Manually adjust the date and time by the administrator.

    Copy Your Computer's Time Settings - To synchronize the date and time of your camera with your computer.

    Day/Night Mode

    Auto - Camera automatically switches Day/Night mode. The camera normally works on Day mode. It automatically changes to Night mode in a dark place.

    Manual - User can manually control the camera work in Day or Night mode at the LIVE VIDEO page.

    Always Day Mode - The camera always works in the Day mode.

    Always Night Mode - The camera always works in the Night mode.

    Day Mode Schedule - The camera works on Day mode at the time that you have configured in the schedule. The camera changes to Night mode in the other time period. The example displayed on the right side of the Mon/Tue/Wed/Thu/Fri/Sat/Sun fields mean that the camera works in Day mode from 08:00 to 18:30 on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, works in Night mode all the day (no Day mode time) on Saturday, and works in Day mode all the day on Sunday.
