Note: This FAQ is for the mydlink app, not mydlink Lite. The screen shots are from the Android version. The iOS version may look a little different. Also, if you have already added the device through the mydlink Lite app, you do not have to add it to this app. Simply log in with your mydlink account.

To add a new camera or device to the mydlink app, follow the steps below:
Note that some devices after adding to the mydlink app may ask to update the firmware. In some cases, the new firmware will prevent the device from working with the mydlink Lite app.
Step 1: Launch the mydlink app. Log in with your mydlink account username and password.
Step 2: Tap the settings icon (3 lines in the upper left corner).
Step 3: Select Add a Device.
Step 4: Tap Yes to scan the QR code. The QR code can be located on the device label or on the Wi-Fi configuration card included with the product. If the label or card are missing, tap No and select from the drop-down list.
Step 5: If you tapped Yes, scan the QR code. If you are having trouble scanning the QR code, move to a brighter lit area.
Step 6: If your router supports WPS, tap Yes. If not, tap No.
Step 7: Press the WPS button on the router. Tap Next.
Step 8: Press the WPS button on the device. Wait for 2 minutes. Do NOT repress the WPS button on your router or device within the 2 minutes or it will not connect.
Step 9: Once the device and/or router lights stop blinking, tap Next.
Step 10: Verify the LED on the device is solid green. Tap Next.
Step 11: The device will now connect to your router and register it with your mydlink account. Please be patient. This process may take up to 3 minutes.
Step 12: If you get an unable to connect to the device error, this usually indicates that the phone or tablet you are running the app on is not connected to the router that the device is. Make sure you are connecting to the router via Wi-Fi. If you are connected via 3g/4g, it will not work. Tap OK and change your Wi-Fi settings.
Step 13: Here you can change the name of the device. Tap on the text to make any changes. You can also change the device location. Tap on the current location (i.e., Living Room) to bring up a list. You can scroll to the bottom and create your own location or tag.
Step 14: The device will now save the settings. This may take about 1 minute.
Step 15: Once finished, tap OK.
Setup is complete
